 Mabungahon ang gipahigayon nga panagtigom karong adlawa taliwala sa mga nagdumala sa Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) ug mga representante sa mga kalungsoran nga adunay rota gikan sa maong terminal.

Gipatawag ang maong tigom ni CSBT General Manager Jonathan "Joy" Tumulak sa  mga representante sa 27 ka mga kalungsoran ug dakbayan, lakip na ang Philippine National Police (PNP), Land Transportation Office (LTO) ug Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Tumong sa maong panagtigom mao ang pagsubay na daan sa possible nga mamahimong suliran sa nagsingabot nga adlaw sa Kalag-Kalag.

Natan-awan nga adunay kakuwangan sa mga buses ug uban pang mga masakyan padulong ngadto sa habagatang bahin sa probinsya.

Dili kini paigo sa bagang duot sa mga pasahero nga mudagsa unya aron pagpauli, lakip na ang muadto tabok sa lalawigan sa Bohol ug Negros Oriental.

Matod ni Tumulak, gitan-aw nga nga dili mumenos 300,000 ka mga pasahero ang mudagsa unya sugod karong Octobre 31.

"Sa miaging tuig, mikabat og 266,000 ang atong naihap nga mga pasahero panahon sa kalag-kalag, magkasaka kini matag tuig," matod ni Tumulak.

Tungod niani, gikasabotan nga hangyuon ang mga Mayor sa mga kalungsuran nga mupadala og mga sakyanan aron sa pagserbisyo sa kinsa unya ang dili makasakay anang panahona.

"Ato gi-awhag ang mga LGU nga mopagamit sa ilang mga sakyanan arun makuha ang mga na stranded nga pasahero ug i priority ang PWD, mabdos, senior citizen ug mothers nga nagda ug gagmay pa nga bata," matod ni Tumulak. 

Gihangop dayon kini sa mga miapil sa maong tigomm gani adunay mga Mayor nga misugot dayon bisan sa tawag lang sa telepono.

Gawas niana gihisgutan usab nila ang kabahin sa kahapsay ug seguridad sa  maong mga adlaw.

Aduna unya mga dugang mga tawo gikan sa PNP, Rescue Units ug Kapitolyo alang sa maong mga okasyon.

Nasayran nga upat ka adlaw ang walay trabaho panahon sa KalagKalag tungod kay Huwebes ug Biernes ang Adlaw sa mga Kalag (Nobyembre 1) ug Minatay (Nobyembre 2), dayon Sabado ug Domingo.

Sa katapusan pod unyang semana sa Nobyembre, laing taas igpahulay tungod kay ang Nobyembre 30 Biernes man.

Is it a Holiday?

Do you know that this is the most common inquiry, question the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) receives for the entire year?

 

Usually we get this question, weeks and then days prior to the said Holiday. And as it nears, we get more and more calls asking the same question.

                                                                                                                                                                    Probably  because that Holiday is already declared under a Presidential Proclamation (issued the year

before) and detailing the list of Holidays for the entire year.

Say for example, for this year 2017, as early as July of last year, Malacanang, through the Official Gazette, then posted Proclamation number 50, declaring the Regular and Special (Non-Working) holidays the entire year.

It is what we simply call as an umbrella Presidential Proclamation..

It covers the Regular Holidays such as New Year's Day, Bonifacio Day, Labor Day; and then the

Special Non Working Holidays like Black Saturday, Ninoy Day, Chinese New Year..etc.

At the same time, Proclamation 50 made mention religious holidays which does not have specific dates.

So far only the two Muslim holidays are covered under the umbrella Proclamation and these are Eidul  Fittr which usually falls in the month of June and Eidul Adha, somewhere in between August and September.

The exact date is dependent upon the Muslim calendar.  Once identified, the Office of the Muslim Affairs (OMA) and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) must inform Malacanang for the issuance of another Presidential Proclamation.

Yep, dear readers.  It needs another law which specifies the exact date of the celebration.

The celebration of Eidul Fittr of this year for example was officially declared   on June 26 under Presidential Proclamation 235.  

Therefore, even if there are already postings and calculations on the exact  date of Eidul Adha, what we can answer you is ...

"As of press time, there is no released Proclamation yet on the said celebration"

Not just long, but longer weekend for Cebu coming up!

Hurray! People of Cebu will have four straight days free from work. 

This after President Mayor Rodrigo "Digong" Duterte signed his 56th Proclamation declaring Monday September 12, 2016 as a Regular holiday.

The whole nation will be one in celebrating the Eid Al Adha of the Muslim community.  It is the second most important holiday for them. The other one was Eidl Fitr or end of Ramadan.

 

 It will be a regular holiday on Monday which means those working are entitled to 100 percent additional pay.  Other pay clarifications though, you may click on www.dole.gov.ph

But this Friday September 9, is also a Special Non Working Holiday, the 135th birthday of the "Grand Old Man" President Don Sergio Osmena Sr. 

He served as President from 1944 to 1946, was the first of three Visayans to assume the country’s presidency – the other two being Manuel Roxas and Carlos P. Garcia. He ascended to the presidency when Manuel Quezon died of tuberculosis. His tenure ended in 1946 following his loss to Manuel Roxas in that year’s elections.

So its Friday (9th), Saturday (10th) Sunday (11th), Monday (12th)!

Sumala sa Presidential Proclation 831, Lista sa mga Holidays sa 2015, ang gideklara nga "Special Non WOrking Holiday" mao lamang ang naandan nga Nobyembre 1 Adlaw sa mga Santos,  nga karon usa ka adlaw nga Dominggo.

One more holiday in April- 73rd Araw ng Kagitingan

For the month of April 2015, Filipinos will have one more day break from work as the entire nation will commemorate National Heroes Day "Araw ng Kagitingan".

In April 9, 1942, over 60,000 Filipinos and 11,000 Americans were forced to walk 140 kilometers from Bataan to San Fernando by the Japanese invaders. Along the way, many prisoners were murdered and died starving, sick and dehydrated.  It was also called the "Death March".

April 9 is among the 11 regular holidays in Presidential Proclamation 831, the list of all holidays observed in the Philippines for 2015.

The Civil Service Commission on the other hand, mandates all government units and agencies to observe the event in a week long commemoration from April 5 to 11, 2015 in various forms.   These include enjoining activities of the Veterans and holding flag raising ceremonies; putting up of tarpaulins and info materials about the history of the event. 

According to Executive Order 203 of the Department of Labor and Employment, the following pay rules will apply on that day:

1. If it is an employee's regular workday
   • If unworked - 100%
   • If worked
     • 1st 8 hours - 200%
     • excess of 8 hours - plus 30% of hourly rate on said day
    
2. If it is an employee's rest day
• If unworked - 100%
• If worked
• 1st 8 hours - plus 30% of 200%
• excess of 8 hours - plus 30% of hourly rate on said day
